OUR COMPETENCES

As Intimacy Coordinators/ Directors in training, we want to be very transparent with what we can do and what we are still in the process of learning ourselves. We are listing competences for intimacy professionals  proposed by SAG-AFTRA certified training organisations such as IDC Professionals

Consent-Forward
(Proficient)

Désirée is in the process of receiving her certification as Consent-Forward Artist by IDC Professionals. Ximena is training with IDC for the same certification.

 

Training

- IDC Professionals Level 1 and 2 and follow-up consent-forward

artist certification upon passed exam.

Trauma-Informed

(Proficient)

Ximena is a certified mental health first aider and a mental health ambassador. Désirée has trained in Trauma-Informed practices. Both are big T trauma survivors.

Anti-Racism /EDI Practices

(In Training)

There is no Intimacy Coordination/Direction without Anti-Racism Advocacy. We are both training in and educating ourselves regarding anti-racism work and Equality, Diversity, Inclusion Practices.

- Foundations of Race, Intimacy and Consent with Theatrical Intimacy Education
- Staging Cultural and Historical Intimacy with the National Society of Intimacy Professionals

Anti-Harassment and

Bystander Intervention

Anti-harassment and bystander intervention training are crucial components of intimacy coordination, helping to create safer and more respectful working environments on-set.

Our team is dedicated to creating a safe and respectful working environment, with both Désirée and Ximena trained in anti-harassment and bystander intervention. 

Ximena has undergone several trainings as intimacy director and continues to expand her knowledge on the topic, while Désirée remains committed to ongoing education. Together, we ensure a professional and compassionate approach to addressing any situation that may arise.

Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation Training

At our core, we believe that everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued. That's why in addition to anti-harassment and bystander intervention training, our team is also trained in Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation.

 

Désirée and Ximena are both committed to ongoing education and stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in this area.

With this knowledge, we strive to create a safe and inclusive working environment where everyone, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation, feels respected and celebrated.

We are both trained actors. With our firsthand experience as performers, we have a deep understanding of the importance of body language and movement in bringing a scene to life, and we are committed to helping productions achieve their vision while ensuring the safety and comfort of everyone involved.

By staying up-to-date on the latest techniques and best practices, we are dedicated to helping performers and crew members bring intimacy and sexual scenes to life in a responsible and authentic way, creating moments that are both visually stunning and emotionally resonant.
